Position: VBA developer (C# or VB.NET)
Location: Rockville, MD
Max Rate: $35.00 per hour/hr on C2C
We have an opportunity in Rockville, MD. 3-6 month contract, and open right away. This person needs to have solid VBA experience as the majority of the work will be doing a great deal of work with VBA Worksheets.
We are seeking a VBA developer (C# or VB.NET) who can develop/modify MS Office driven custom applications. Ideal person will have excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have ability to engage key client personnel and participate in all areas of the development life-cycle. Should be comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies. Ideally, the candidate should follow best practices for code development and has experience building reusable and maintainable code for future projects. Above all, a problem-solving/developer mindset, ability to learn new technologies and apply them!
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Comprehensive knowledge of one or more platforms and operating systems, and of programming languages such as VBA, C# and .Net.
Knowledge of one or more systems architectures such as client/server and distributed processing.
Ability to work well in team environment.
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Demonstrated ability to successfully multi-task
High energy and a self-starter
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Must work well as a member of a team as well as independently
Experience:
2 years' experience working with MS development & infrastructure technologies, including:
Solid understanding of object-oriented concepts and Microsoft .NET
Experience with Java a plus
Experience with C#
Experience with ASP.NET, ADO.NET, WinForms,
Experienced in creating n-tier architecture based applications, writing user controls, and web controls.
Experience with jQuery Mobile and ASP.NET MVC.
2 years experience in RDBMS SQL Server (T-SQL) or greater, Oracle etc.
Experience with SOA, ESB, Web Services, WSDL
Understanding of industry best practices for development process, documentation and SDLC.
Understanding of Section 508 compliance requirements and web formatted graphics
Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Source Safe Or other Configuration Management tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Solid experience developing custom solutions using MS Excel as the front end as well as importing and extracting data from Excel.
Provide mid-level contribution to a team responsible for design, development and implementation of critical business applications using VBA, .NET, Oracle and SQL technologies.
Design and develop applications. Translate design to code and perform unit test on the developed code and applications.
Assist in collecting and documenting customer requirements and translate that to requirements.
Develop and document the design specs and prepare test plans.
Participate in all aspects of application lifecycle from inception through design, programming, testing, documentation review and assisting with customer support.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar field
