client seeks Software Developer with Project Management/Business Analysis and external customer service experience. Successful candidates will energize and develop unique software for power industry along with a team of cutting edge solutions experts. Software development will include leveraging the latest in Microsoft stack technologies such as Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, Silverlight, C# and T-SQL in addition to Visual Studio, Team Foundation Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, Silverlight XAML, light T-SQL coding, Stored Procedures , Agile training, etc. Travel to client sites (1-4 days at a time, once a month, based on demand) to troubleshoot, perform training, address concerns with all customer end-users.

 

Responsibilities

·         Facilitating, organizing and traveling to customer sites for agile requirements sessions, training, product demonstrations and project status meetings

·         Technical design, prototyping, and testing with Versify developers

·         Manage and communicate on a variety of exciting projects assisting customers (who love us) to implement solutions in a fast paced and dynamic industry

·         Author a variety of light documentation, Microsoft Project Plans, status reports, project updates, customer communications, and test cases to help keep us from chaos

·         Organize and lead developers to deliver projects in a timely fashion through the full development life cycle in a new office space designed for collaboration and team work

·         Light coding/scripting using Versify's configuration tools, Silverlight XAML, light T-SQL Stored Procedures, working with the SQL database and data

·         25% technical T-SQL, XAML, database coding and implementation, 10% support and troubleshooting, 50% client communication and management, 25% documentation (we expect 110%)

·         Quickly deliver technical solutions to client's environments ensuring quality and solid development practices and methodology

·         Learning the energy industry, our customers and our solutions as they are being used by clients across the country

·         Team collaboration to identify global enhancement requests and play a role in the overall architecture of the company solutions

·         Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues (it doesn't happen often, but we stand by our products)

·         Travel to customer sites for 1-4 days at a time approximately once a month.   The travel time and frequency varies and may increase or decrease depending on the project

 

Requirements

·         A creative, bright, and an out-of-the-box-thinker and technologist!

·         BS degree in MIS/CIS/CSE or equivalent formal training

·         4-6 years' experience as a Technical Business Analyst

·         2+ years' experience working for a power generation, power marketing, or energy trading department

·         Significant experience working, traveling and interacting with external customers and business partners

·         Tools and documents such as Microsoft Project, Status Reports, Requirements, Technical Documentation, Visio Diagrams, Test Plans, and the Microsoft Office Suite must be second nature

·         Capability to quickly learn and understand the technical architecture and functionality of the Versify application suite

·         Experience with web based applications, SQL databases and T-SQL language

·         An exceptional ability to clearly articulate and communicate, both written and verbally (we're not kidding on this one)

·         Strong organizational and time management skills to schedule meetings, accurate project time tracking, and must be able to deliver on time and with quality product

·         Capability to effectively communicate to peers, management and customers on progress, troubleshooting issues, and resolution and work in a team environment

·         Experience with Agile, Waterfall and other SDLC Methodologies

·         Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills

·         Quickly learn new technologies and programming skills

·         A motivated self-starter that is able to work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision

 Additional Skills

·         1-3 years' experience developing applications (HTML, Java, or .NET) or T-SQL

·         Experience developing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or greater, strong T-SQL, and Stored Procedures.

·         Experience as a developer working for a power generation, power marketing, or energy trading department desired

·         Experience with HTML, XML, XSLT, and Internet/Intranet database-driven applications
