  Job Description: 

 

• 3+ years of experience in a Python development environment required
  
• Experience in installation, configuration, and maintenance of OpenNMS, Solarwinds Orion and HP Network Automation
  
• Knowledge with PERL programming language is a plus
  
• Experience with REST API development and consumption
  
• We require a good working knowledge of relational databases and SQL query language (Postgres, MS SQLServer)
  
• Very good knowledge of the TCP/IP network stack (including UDP)
  
• Very good knowledge of web-related protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS)
  
• Experience working with configuration management software such as Ansible (preferred)
  
• Experience with presentation layer development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery and popular SPA frameworks such as AngularJS
  
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
  
• Strong unit test and debugging skills
  
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English)
  
• Work in close coordination with engineers and analyst stakeholders to translate requirements into technical design
  
• A team player, experienced in working in intercultural and geographically dispersed teams
  
• Actively contributes to the establishment and compliance of development processes
  
• Produces high quality technical documentation
  

Priority candidates with the following skills set:

• Experience with Infrastructure and/or Network monitoring and alerting systems; OpenNMS or Solarwinds Orion preferred
  
• Experience with SYSLOG, SNMP, and streaming telemetry
  
• System administration experience; Linux preferred, Windows a plus
  
• Experience with Virtualization (VMWare, OpenStack, Docker, Vagrant) is a plus
  
• Experience with Flask, Django or other Python-based web frameworks
  
• Familiarity with best practices for responsive design
  
• Experience with Cloudforms and/or vRealize is a plus
  
• Experience with backend services such as Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ and Elasticsearch, including setup, administration, scaling and monitoring
  
• Experience with build management and continuous integration tools (such as Jenkins, Travis, GitLab, etc.)
