Software Quality Assurance Manager


The qualified candidate will possess 8 years of experience in three major areas, including: Project Management experience with QA teams, Selenium and JMeter, and Management of QA Team.



The Quality Assurance Manager's role is to develop, establish, and enforce quality assurance standards and measures for information technology services.  Manager will oversee and direct the day-to-day operations of the QA team and activities on strategic projects that contribute to the improved state of systems compliance and validation; includes design and development of control processes, documentation, training and maintenance.


Responsibilities for this Position Include:


  • Manage a team of quality assurance analysts and/or test engineers, providing day-to-day direction and prioritization on multiple concurrent projects, application initiatives and support of production systems.
  • Works proactively and collaboratively with the QA Director and other departments connected with the development, support and installation of our software products to improve the end customer experience.
  • Focus on continuous improvement using tools and quality metrics.  Responsible for creating, assimilating and reporting on quality-related metrics on a regular, frequent basis.
  • Implement and measure team performance, identify trends, investigate creative ways of making the team more efficient.
  • Participates in planning, estimation, and prioritization of development sprint activities including capacity planning, feature complexity analysis, and market need.
  • Oversee unbiased evaluation of projects to ensure proper adherence to quality programs and test methodology.  Review projects to ensure proper resource estimates and allocations. Develop necessary project plans to support quality programs.
  • Improving the practice of our quality assurance by continuously monitoring test cases, unit testing, regression testing, negative testing and other appropriate disciplines.
  • Ensure fiscal requirements are met through budget development and variance analysis, CapEx tracking, ITS payables process, and monthly financial accounting.
  • Provide accurate and timely status reporting as required by the Manager and corporate management including task and time reporting.
  • Evaluate new technologies, methods and process and assess their value in making the development process more efficient.  Ensure on-going evolution of software quality assurance best practices.
  • Bring a "can-do" results oriented attitude to a team that includes the desire and ability to learn.
  • Work special projects as needed.



  • Bachelor of Science Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years IT Experience.
  • 4+ years Software Quality Assurance Lead experience in IT Software Testing experience with both manual and automated testing methods and tools.
  • 3+ years Project Management experience, with an emphasis on leading projects or QA teams.
  • Quality Assurance & Software Testing methodologies and practices.
  • Understanding of full software development lifecycle including user stories, technical specification, development, documentation, QA processes, source control, maintenance and deployment is essential.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and escalate them to Project Managers and/or QA Director.
  • Ability to handle multiple project simultaneously is required.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment or on an individual contributor basis.
  • Ability to review project objectives and translate them into detailed tasks which are scrutinized and then acted on.
  • Ability to understand the business needs behind client requirements and design and develop effective solutions to meet the business needs.
  • Ability to track tasks from conception to implementation.
  • Ability to explain requirements and technical scenarios to non-technical people.
  • Ability to receive delegation effectively.
  • Analytical and critical thinker with strong problem solving skills.
  • Understanding and knowledge of automated QA tools is a plus: Selenium, JMeter, Appium.
  • Knowledge of programming languages and technologies is a plus:  Java, C# or .Net, SQL, XML, and other web development technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with mobile application testing and deployment a plus.
  • Exposure to DevOps and Continuous Integration a plus.
