JOB TITLE- UI Developer with React and Javascript experience

LOCATION- NYC, NY

DURATION- 6+ Months Contract

MODE OF INTERVIEW: F2F

Visa : USC or GC only

 

 

Must have React

Must have solid communication skills

 

Javascript Engineer - MUST have significant REACT experience- Strong 

Need someone with a steady background - not job hoppers or longer assignments

Backend experience is helpful like Rails or Python

He is seeing a lot of dense resumes that are "dry"- finance guys don't work out here

TDD - someone who thinks about testing their code as they crate

Mocha, Jasmine, Karma (test frameworks that people use to bring our their code) **These are all specific JavaScript Testing Frameworks

Continuous integration process- you push out code. Run on test server…need any improvements?

Ask candidate "Tell me about an important architectural decision you were part of?"

 

You will be helping to build out the UI and Javascript applications, that support the iPad app and provide a suite of features to their customers.

The candidate should be able to work well as part of a team consisting of backend and other front end engineers. The candidate who is a good fit for this position will not only have strong development experience, but will be passionate about emerging technologies, the open source community, and might have even spent some time behind a register.

Responsibilities:

·         Lead initiatives in the development of our large back office web app

·         Continue to build and scale our existing Rails services

·         Create new features, and contribute to architecture decisions

·         Identify new technologies, and techniques that could improve product or processes

·         Lead code reviews, contribute to team learning, and mentor more junior members of the team

Requirements:

Essential:

·         Knowledge and deep understanding of front-end technologies including: React, Javascript, HTML, CSS

·         Strong commitment to testing and TDD practices

·         Good feel for UX and building UIs

·         Experience building and scaling applications

·         Experience working in an Agile environment

·         Comfortable working with source control, Git/Mercurial etc.

Desirable:

·         Experience with Ruby on Rails

·         Comfortable working with ES6

·         Experience with React Application architectures.

·         Single Page Application Architecture experience: Routing, Managing state

·         Strong contributions to the coding community

·         Experience managing and mentoring junior employees
