Position -- Oracle Middleware Server Administrator

Duration: 12 months

Location: Downey, CA.

 

 

OBJECTIVE

 

Obtain a consultant at the level of Oracle Middleware Server Administrator to provide technical support for hosted Oracle Middleware products. Company's Midrange Computing Division (MCD) Application Server Administration (ASA) section hosts Oracle Middleware server products for multiple departments. It is responsible for applying security/bug patches, upgrading software, and migrating infrastructure servers on top of other server administration tasks.

 

DESCRIPTION OF WORK/DUTIES

 

The Consultant shall perform all of the duties listed below:

·         Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle WebLogic Server.

·         Install, configure, upgrade, and patch Oracle SOA, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Web Tier, and/or Oracle ERP products.

·         As part of the technical support:

o    Analyze, troubleshoot, solve server and/or application issues, prepare and implement changes via the established Change Management process, and provide incident reports when requested by management.

o    Provide technical assistance, recommendations and/or solutions to the application development staff and departments when needed.

o    Work with software vendors' technical support and customers to resolve issues.

·         Develop technical documentation for managed systems.

·         Provide weekly status reports to team lead for assigned tasks and projects.

·         Transfer systems' support knowledge to staff.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

The Consultant must meet all of the following minimum qualifications:

1.    Three (3) years of  experience within  the last five (5) years as a  systems administrator installing, configuring, upgrading, patching, and troubleshooting Oracle WebLogic Application Server.

2.    Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years as a systems administrator installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle SOA, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Business Intelligence, Oracle Web Tier, or Oracle ERP.

3.    Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years working as Oracle Middleware server administrator in Linux or Unix and Windows server environments and programing Linux and Windows scripts to automate application server maintenance tasks.

4.    Two (2) years of experience within the last five (5) years working with Oracle Support to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

5.    Three (3) years of experience within the last five (5) years writing or preparing technical documentation and providing customer service.
