Position Details:

 

Job Title:             DevOps Engineer  USC or GC

Location:             Santa Clara, CA

Duration:            12 + Months

 

DevOps Engineer :

 

Talented DevOps and Test engineer to build automated software build, test and deployment systems.

 

The Role

·         DevOps team member works closely with product development, operations and client service delivery to support, maintain and manage infrastructure and business continuity.

·         Support and maintain infrastructure for automated build, deploy, and test of various R&D solutions currently under development.

·         Incident management and resolution.

·         Security and technology support.

·         Application performance management.

·         Internal application support.

 

Essential Duties

·         Respond to and resolve production issues.

·         Develop and maintain internal tools and processes to build, test, and deploy various software components and systems under development.

·         Monitor and report performance of deployed systems

·         Automate repetitive tasks.

·         Help define and establish common and advanced system administration functions.

·         Present clearly to personnel on varying levels of topics related to job duties.

·         Continuously evaluating DevOps Engineer related areas and processes regarding efficiencies and risk.

 

The Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

·         Minimum three to five years of high-tech industry and/or IT work experience in product engineering, development and/or support functions. DevOps experience required.

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to produce usable and maintainable documentation.

·         Proficient with standard IT concepts, practices, and procedures.

·         Intermediate programming background.

·         IT scripting knowledge.

·         Design and implement architecture to support scalable and highly available systems to build, deploy, and test R&D applications with automation and disaster recovery

·         Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or assistance.

·         Strong problem solving skills: innovation, collaboration, analysis, inductive reasoning.

·         Good understanding of business processes and IT systems.

·         Experience\knowledge working in an agile environment a plus.

Job Description:

We are a fast-moving, highly technical team of people with the ambitious goal of disrupting next generation DNA Sequencing.  Developing our unique platform requires expertise across a range of fields: software engineering, data science, biology, chemistry, protein engineering, circuit design, and electrochemistry, just to name a few.  We're pushing the boundaries in DNA sequencing technology. Our chemistry and biology coupled with our custom hardware creates a system that generates data at tremendous rates, a big challenge for existing technology for data processing. We're looking for a top-notch software engineers to help create "best in class" applications for the management of sequencing instruments and the genomic workflow. The UI developer will play a critical role in the development of such applications. The role requires creative solutions for front-end coding on various platforms including mobile, desktop and tablets. The Principal Engineer will leverage existing technologies and open source projects to create smart, fast front experiences for users. The Engineer will work with the UX team as well as the larger product and engineering teams. Genia is looking for a person with strong JavaScript and HTML/CSS experience who enjoys refining the user experience through micro-interactions, UI design patterns and high performing code.

 

Responsibilities include:

·         Write front-end code utilizing JavaScript, AJAX, HTML5, CSS for scientific visualization application. Contribute to visual design of user interfaces.

·         Propose, develop requirements, prototype and execute new design and interaction concepts, collaborating with user experience, engineering and product management.

·         Work with web development team to integrate front end code with backend  application servers, and databases.

·         Solid understanding of object-oriented design, with focus on client side scripting.

·         Ability to synthesize user, technical and design requirements into highly usable applications

Skills:

·         Minimum 10 years' experience designing and coding dynamic apps using clean markup and robust CSS, LESS, or SCSS.

·         Experience with JavaScript visualization libraries such as D3.js, and building 2-D animation using JavaScript

·         Excellent understanding of JavaScript project development eco system [Grunt,  Gulp, Bower, karma etc]

·         Knowledge and experience with Node.js, and working in an environment that includes a variety of middle-ware and backend web technologies such as Java, JSTL, Tomcat, Oracle, PHP, UNIX, SQL, Perl, LDAP, HTTP a plus.

·         Familiarity with common data interchange formats and protocols: JSON, REST, AJAX, XML.

·         Keen user interface/experience sensibility; able to clearly communicate design/feature ideas to a designer or developer, or to execute on their own.

·         Experience with source control systems such as SVN, and Git; bug tracking systems such as bugzilla and Jira;  various project management tools such as Jira, Trello, MS Project or similar as well as Balsamic or other wireframing tools.

·         Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical, diagnostic, problem-solving, debugging and optimization skills.

·         Able to interact and communicate diplomatically with other team members, multiple internal departments, and management.

Job Description:

We are a fast-moving, highly technical team of people with the ambitious goal of disrupting next generation DNA Sequencing.  Developing our unique platform requires expertise across a range of fields: software engineering, data science, biology, chemistry, protein engineering, circuit design, and electrochemistry, just to name a few.  We're pushing the boundaries in DNA sequencing technology. We're looking for a top-notch software engineer to help create a high performance computing pipeline that will help with the signal processing and data analysis of the raw reads from the instrument. 

 

Responsibilities include:

·         Write data analysis programs utilizing Python.

·         Propose, develop requirements, prototype and execute new design and implementation concepts in collaboration with the architects and scientists.

·         Work with the research and development team to implement algorithms into python code that runs the core pipeline and integrates with other applications, servers, and databases.

·         Solid understanding of object-oriented design, with focus on scientific computing and data analysis applications.

·         Ability to synthesize user, technical and design requirements into highly usable applications

·         Write clean, maintainable, documented code using best engineering practices in the industry (design patterns, TDD, peer review, CI, automated testing etc.)

Data Analyst   USC/GC/EADs only

Boston area, MA

12-24 + month contract

 

USC/GC/EAD 

KEY AREAS:

1.  Prior experience analyzing data for a healthcare payer, strong knowledge of claims, billing and enrollment data, as well as the associated business processes is required (Preferably with CMS) 

2.  Strong knowledge of concepts and prior experience working within an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment with numerous data sources and data volumes in the terabytes.

3.  Ability to perform analysis with little/no direction, proactively identify potential issues in the data and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data

4.  Strong Data Mapping and documentation skills 

 REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

 

• 5+ years prior experience as a data analyst within healthcare, preferably with a payor, should have performed data analytics on daily basis as a primary role

• Strong knowledge of Claims, Billing and Enrollment data and the associated business processes

• Demonstrated expertise in writing and analyzing complex SQL queries is required (Oracle & SQL Server)

• Understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse concepts and prior experience applying that understanding to query data in a Very Large Database (VLDB) environment

• Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within tight timelines while being flexible in adapting to new roles

• Knowledge of data modeling concepts both in a multi-layer data warehouse (Normalized / Inmon) and  data mart (Dimensional / Kimball)

• Ability to work with multiple areas within organization to get business objectives, data requirements etc.

• Identify problematic areas and conduct research to determine the best course of action to correct the data

• Ability to interpret data that is not well defined or documented and develop recommendations based on findings

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to present findings and recommendations and to business users or leadership

  

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's Degree in related field required.  Master's Degree in related field preferred
