Position : DB2/Informix Engineer

Location : Framingham, MA

Duration: 6+ Months Contarct

Job Description:

Please share profiles having strong experience in MySQL and Informix.

 

·         Customer's strategic directions are not to build anything new in DB2 rather grow  more in MySQL space.

·         As per the new requirements we need a cross-skilled DBA. Who is good at Informix and had prior experience with DB2 as both of them are IBM production.

·         This person should be hands on to MySQL and can grow skills as new MySQL environment expands.

Provide DBA support on all aspects of databases administration including  backup/recovery, replication, deployment and real time production troubleshooting responsibilities on DB2 UDB databases with DPF.

• Install, configure, monitor, upgrade and maintain database in production and non-production environments

• Provide Database deployment support for Test and Production environments

• Diagnose and address database performance issues using performance monitors and various tuning techniques

• Interact with Storage and Systems administrators on Linix/Unix/VM operating systems issues related to Databases

• Able to write database maintenance and automation scripts

• Configure and maintain Database High availability

• Support eplication

• Troubleshoot database production problems and database connectivity issues

• Implement DR solutions

• Solid understanding of Database technology – DB2 UDB Distributed databases including DPF.

• Good understanding of Linux/VM platform

• Deep understanding of HA, DR Database and storage technologies like Data replication, SRDF/non-SRDF

• Experience implementing, supporting and auditing database security

• Experience with Unix/Linux OS platform and Unix Shell/Perl scripting and automation

• Very Strong Datawarehouse experience closely work with development team and help fixing the root cause

• Proactively acParticipate in high priority issues/call and provide Root Cause and perform effective problem management

 

• Experience with Onshore/Offshore support model, Lead the communication and cordnation between customer and the offshore team

• eComm exprience is preferred

• Oracle Golden Gate awareness

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
