Position : DevOps Engineer - Amazon Web Services

Location : Bethpage, NY

Type : Contract

Duration : 6 + months

Tentative Start : March 14^th

 

H1B will work

Interview : Phone  + In Person Interview

 

Description of project:

. Designing and building infrastructure on AWS environment
. Manage cloud based infrastructure; may be required to provide support off-hours if needed
. Migrating existing services from physical data centers to AWS cloud
. Use configuration management tools like puppet for provisioning
. Troubleshooting full web and mobile stack
. Implement proactive monitoring tools
. Troubleshoot production issues; escalate and communicate as required
. Performance tuning for hosting environments, including application components
. Build design and training documentation required for each automation project
. Work with software development teams to improve the readiness for operational deployment
. Write scripts to automate operations, server management and auto scaling

 

Required Skills:

. 7+ years experience building and maintaining applications in large-scale consumer websites running on Linux using Apache/NGINX, MySQL, MongoDB, Node.js, PHP, JavaScript for web and mobile platform
. 7+ years experience administration & configuration management of large scale web-based apps
. Strong experience with RedHat/CentOS Linux 
. Strong hands-on experience in using and supporting Amazon Web Services technologies
. Comfortable with any one of the programming languages like PHP or Python
. Hands-on experience with configuration tools, i.e.: Puppet, Chef
. Candidate should have experience in managing MySQL or NoSQL databases receiving high traffic
. Candidate should have experience in deployment monitoring tools (New Relic, Cloud Watch, Pingdom, etc) 
. Familiar with GIT, Jenkins, Capistrano for source control, deployments and continuous integration
. Experienced troubleshooting live heavy traffic web applications, trouble shooting CDN related issues, CDN configuration deployment (should have experience in managing clusters, load balancers, isolating traffic when needed)
