Essential Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for programing a feature and or a small feature set. You will contribute to the team and works with direction from the Senior Team Members or management but works independently.
In this role you will:
· Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style and leading by example; This person should personify Scrum and Agile
· Guide and coach the Scrum team and organization on how to use agile / Scrum practices and values, to think in terms of priority and backlog, and how to get the most out of self-organization
· Assess the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization and coach the team to higher levels of Maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
· Remove impediments, or guide the team to remove impediments, by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment
· Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving
· Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work
· Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
· Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
· Support and educate the team, especially with respect to prioritizing, managing the product backlog, and supply / demand balance
Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
· A minimum of 10 years of professional experience (include technical skill)
· Minimum 1 year experience in the Scrum Master role for a software development team
Desired Characteristics:
Technical Expertise:
· First level Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM )
· Experience in using the Jira or Rally tool to manage Agile processes
· Experience developing web applications (Spring, RESTful, Jersey, RestEasy, JAX-WS, Web Services)
· Experience with front-end technologies such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS, AngularJS, BackboneJS, EmberJS, KnockoutJS
· Experience with database tools (JPA, Hibernate, JDBC, Spring Data)
· Experience with rules engines (Camel, Drools, JRules) & modern tooling (Gradle, Maven, Git, SVN)
· Agile & SCRUM development experience
· Experience in Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD)
Business Acumen:
· Have a solid understanding of the underlying infrastructure needed to run a large distributed web application
· Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks
· Has the ability to make basic technology choices based on experience
· Demonstrates awareness about competitors and industry
Leadership:
· Team leadership experience
· Has the ability to take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
· Voices opinions and presents clear rationale. Uses data or factual evidence to influence
· Recognizes collaborative behavior and participates in collaborative activities
· Learns organization vision statement and decision making framework. Able to understand how team and personal goals/objectives contribute to the organization vision
