Job Title : Hadoop Developer

Technical/Functional Skills
Big Data, Hadoop, PIG, Hive, Oozie, Linux Shell Scripting, P&C Insurance Domain Knowledge, SQL, Data Profiling
1. Must be good at Hadoop, PIG & HIVE scripting.
2. Big Data development in Hadoop, Hive, HUE ,Data Lake environment
3. Previous knowledge and demonstrated ability with Java programming is a plus.
4. ETL/SQL Training is available for the right candidates with experience with PIG & Hive scripting
5. Intermediate skills associated with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.
6. P&C Insurance experience is preferred but not required
7. Excellent communication to interact with the business customers
Roles & Responsibilities
• Will be directly working with clients and offshore counter-parts
• Hadoop development and implementation.
• Loading from disparate data sets.
• Pre-processing using Hive and Pig.
• Designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting Hadoop.
• Translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design.
• Perform analysis of vast data stores and uncover insights.
• Maintain security and data privacy.
• Create scalable and high-performance web services for data tracking.
• High-speed querying.
• Managing and deploying HBase.
• Being a part of a POC effort to help build new Hadoop clusters.
• Test prototypes and oversee handover to operational teams.
• Propose best practices/standards.
