Our client, a major global investment bank is looking for an Consultant - who is an Oracle / Informatica DBA.  The primary role will be to provide production support for the bank's global Oracle database estate.

You are a good team player, with a proven track record of delivery in high pressure, technically challenging environments. Good technical, communication and interpersonal skills are particularly important.

 

THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  *   Provide production support to various Oracle and Informatica environments across the bank

  *   Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup, recovery and automated alerts based on server thresholds and events

  *   Develop maintenance regimes

  *   Expert in tasks automation

  *   Create and implement security models

  *   Server, query, application performance tuning

  *   Support application teams in the logical and physical database design

 

WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB:

 

  *   8+ years' experience

  *   Solid Oracle experience

  *   DB2, MySQL or Informatica is a plus

  *   In-depth knowledge in building infrastructure ("setting up shop") for large databases

  *   In-depth knowledge in different disaster-recovery and warm-backup schemes, procedures, and implementations

  *   Unix knowledge is required

  *   Data Center Migration experience

  *   Knowledge of Autosys

 

DESIRABLE:

 

  *   Experience in migration of legacy Oracle environments to new clustered solutions

  *   Experience in performance tuning

  *   Experience in global replication with Oracle databases and must be able to troubleshoot the issues
