Job Title – Linux Security Consultant

Location –   Columbia, SC

Duration – 1 Year

 

REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
Linux system administration, incident response, knowledge of Internet protocols and applications.

Excellent customer interface skills.

Experience with UNIX, Windows, Linux, MacOS, Cisco, Juniper, web apps, databases, strong authentication, operating systems and network security protocols and procedures.

Ability to install and use various security tools

 

Daily Duties / Responsibilities:  Installation, modification and testing of linux security sensors throughout the state. Installation, compiling and configuration of linux (centos) software tailored for security monitoring and reporting such as: snort, barnyard, wireshark, tepdump, openvpn, nagios, suricata, ntop-ng and other software packages as required. advise agencies on proper firewall configuration in accordance with industry best practices, dis policies and soc installation guidelines.  assist local government entities with incident response and risk mitigation in the event of compromise or discovery of vulnerabilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
Firewall administration, Bash scripting, intrusion detection system implementation and configuration.
