Here is a description of the technical stack for some of our future Java projects.  Per our discussion, we will only consider senior engineers and the screening will be stringent.   At the least, during the first 3-6 months, the team needs to be collocated in Chantilly.  For the right individuals, a few days of telecommuting during the week, will be considered.

I think that the recruiting process will start with screening resumes and then will continue with skype calls and/or onsite interviews and once again the screening will be fairly rigorous.  It would be difficult to find someone with all the skills.  We will be looking for people that can clearly demonstrate that they have many of these and can learn the rest very fast.

 

Project Technical Stack:

 

The projects are run using an agile/scrum methodology

The projects are making heavy use of the Atlassian cloud application stack (Jira, Bamboo, Git)

The server-side environment is running on Linux

The web containers are a combination of nginx and tomcat

Builds are performed in Gradle and automated (Jenkins or Bamboo)

PostgreSQL or MySQL is used for the RDBMS

MongoDB is also used to store some data from external sources

The server side application makes heavy use of common java framework such as Spring Core, SpringIntegration, Spring MVC, Spring Data, jUnit, Jersey

Message bus is handled by AMQP/RabbitMQ

DevOps technical stack includes Vagrant, Docker and Ansible

 

Back-end developer profile:

 

7+ years of experience developing in Java

4+ years performing development lead role

4+ years with agile development

Fantastic Java developer with experience in most of the following framework (or equivalent):

Spring Core

Spring Integration

Spring MVC

MyBatis, Hibernate

jUnit

Jersey

RabbitMQ (or similar AMQP/messaging framework)

Experience with open source RDBMS (PostgreSQL  or MySQL preferred)

Very comfortable on a Linux operating system

Experience developing REST services

MongoDB experience is a plus

Strong experience with unit test automation
