Role: Cognos Administrator

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 1 Year

 

Local Preferred. Face to Face Interview

Purpose of the Position:

Provide architecture and support of the Cognos business reporting toolset. Report generation for college business units through data gathering and business alignment.

Essential Job Functions:

o Work with technical teams to ensure a high performing and highly available Cognos solution

o Accountable for system installation, availability, performance, documentation and application development

o Responsible for the administration of the installations of Cognos enterprise reporting software tools.

o Consult with business areas on matters relating to system connections, security, user accounts, and creation of data models

o Monitor and maintain system performance and provide statistical reporting

o Address issues and resolve problem cases as they arise.

o Schedule and maintain jobs in Cognos to run reports as needed

o Share knowledge by effectively documenting work

o Design project folder structure in Cognos connection based on project requirements

o Manage security of project folders in the distributed Cognos environment

o Create and maintain content store backups and perform regular maintenance of the portal.

o Respond quickly and effectively to production

o Install, configure and maintain Cognos software

o Install, upgrade, apply patches and bug fixes 

o Communicate with stake holders, take all necessary steps and create robust, well defined plan
