PHP Software Developer

Location: Briarcliff Manor, NY  (in-person interview)

4+ Months

 

Description

The Software Developer will be a member of a small agile development team that deals with both customer facing and internal proprietary systems. This position will be responsible for developing software applications, unit testing, debugging new and existing software, performance tuning and optimization of existing code.

Duties

· Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects develop, test, document, and maintain web based business applications built with PHP and MySQL.

· Develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.

· Provide technical guidance to fellow team members

· Work with team lead to analyze and provide feedback of technical requirements

· Analyze and resolve production issues

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Requirements

· 5+ years' experience as a Software Developer

· 3+ years' experience working with object oriented PHP, MySQL and Javascript

· Experience with agile development methodologies

· Experience with source control systems, continuous integration and automated testing

· Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment

· Strong communication skills with both internal team members and external business stakeholders

· Ability to work from rudimentary requirements and specifications

 

Desired Experience

· Energy industry experience, knowledge of customer lifecycle to include commercial as well as residential.

· Experience working with Zend Framework or other MVC frameworks

· Zend Certified Engineer

· Exposure to C# and MSSQL
