Job Location: Minneapolis, MN

Job Duration: 13 Months with possible extension

Clipper builds back-end Restful services to drive a portion of our online store.   These services are purely API driven with no user interface.   These services integrate with enterprise services for data transfer via real time apis, queues, and files.

Position Overview:

 

Responsibilities/Deliverables that the resource will be responsible for:

Able to quickly learn and understand, to a deep level of detail: the behavior of the Restful web services the team produces, the public APIs, and the proper interaction patterns for those APIs  the clients (systems) who integrate with these services (REST APIs) and the proper interaction patterns  the suppliers (systems) who integrate with these services (APIs, queues, files) and the proper interaction patterns Serves as the primary point of contact to communicate service behavior and interactions.  Filters questions and external feedback back to development team.   Communicates both verbally and in writing.   Working with the team architect, intakes new behaviors (features) and helps communicate them to development team.   Teaches internal team members system behavior during on-boarding.   Provides traceability of feature requests back to business owners   Develops test scenarios as input to QA and ensures proper test coverage. Assists in the creation and execution of system and user acceptance test plans When necessary, assists in writing test cases/data and executing tests

 

What would a normal day for this position look like??

Understand and document current web services, clients, suppliers and interaction patterns. Disseminate system behavior to teams, both internal and external Work with development team on new features Attend daily standups Write testing scenarios as input to QA team

 

 

Skills Overview:

What are the MUST have skills and technologies that you are looking for in a candidate?

5+ years in Business Analysis experience Recent experience with web services, including message formats (json/xml) and documenting interaction patterns Familiar with HTTP protocol and response codes Attention to detail with excellent written skils Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to change Has worked in an environment which has short release cycles.   Optional Understanding of Splunk, Jira and Confluence tools Can approach complex problem-solving and troubleshooting tasks with creativity Not afraid to ask questions and challenge Experience working in an Agile methodology Previous Retail/dotcom/inventory management experience preferred.

 

What are the soft skills that you feel candidates must-have in order to be successful in this role?

Extremely good collaboration skills with senior level developers Very good interpersonal communication style to work with internal and external teams with different methodologies and processes. Comfortable working in a fast paced, Agile team with many moving parts and changes. Enjoys sifting through details for accuracy and completeness; Encouraging teams to reverse engineer their systems as a means to requirements.
