Position: QA Analyst

Location: Carlsbad, CA

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Overview:

We are seeking for an experienced Quality Assurance Analyst with an understanding 

of how all pieces of a complex distributed system interact and function together. The candidate 

should have technical skills required to test enterprise-class system software within the software 

development life cycle. This position requires the ability to understand, coordinate, and conduct 

full end to end testing for a Business Intelligence project from Data set creation to Dashboard  testing for Reports.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

v  Basic understanding of software development, ability to write codes for automated testing utilities as needed. 

v  Ensure that quality processes are carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle

v  Experience Validating Business Transformation Rules: Experience with constructing SQL statements on relational databases ( SQL Server or Oracle)

v  Experience in OLAP & Cube Testing (Check whether the data from the data warehouse/data mart is mapped & designed correctly in the OLAP Cube or reports.)

v  Experience testing Repository and OBIEE dashboards, to verify dashboards, dashboard pages, reports, subject areas, data and attributes are meeting the requirements.

v  Communicate software defects using in-house defect tracking system. Provide ongoing status, risk-analysis and coverage reports to management.

v  Prioritize and schedule work and meet deadlines. Report priority of open issues to Principal Architect and engineering team lead(s) and communicate with outside departments as necessary.

v  Coordinate and actively participate in project meetings during software development life cycle. Present overall testing plan/approach to, project teams and management.

v  Assist with troubleshooting software defects by working with end users and/or development team. 

 

EDUCATION: 

 

v  BS Degree in Computer Science or relevant IT/Software testing experience

 

v  Minimum 7 + years of Software Testing experience
