Job Title : Build / Release Engineer
Location : Boston, MA
Duration : 4+Months Contract (Possible Extension)
Technology skills
Unix shell script: Intermediate level, hands on writing scripts using common language constructs PLSQL: Intermediate level skills that should include knowledge of PLSQL routines (packages/procedures/functions), data types, in-built functions, index, table partitions and basic query tuning. Knowledge of collections, analytical functions and Oracle database administration skills would be an advantage.
Perl: Basic scripting
Message broker (preferably ActiveMQ): Configuration & troubleshooting
Basic administration and configuration of Tomcat, Webservers, ActiveDirectory
Debugging skills in java (or other languages)
Working knowledge or experience working with the following tools:
Maven (or Ant)
Hudson (or other CI tools like CruiseControl, Jenkins etc)
Configuration management tools (Accurev, SVN, CVS etc)
Code quality tools like FindBugs/PMD/CheckStyle/StyleCop/FXCop
Nolio (preferred)
Build automation via script/CI tools
Main duties and responsibilities:
The person's primary responsibilities include:
Ensure uptime for production and non production environments of the application
Primary ownership for deploying new releases to all environments
Own, refine and drive Infrastructure processes defined for the team
Own, refine, create (new) and leverage automated tools built / needed to ensure application infrastructure is stable
Independently resolve build / infrastructure issues, if any
Perform triage / root cause analysis of issues
Own and ensure knowledge artifacts are current and detailed
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years experience in Infrastructure management space
Client facing skills,
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to moderate meetings / bridges
Flexibility in working odd hours and weekends
