Position: Senior Java Developer
Location: McLean VA

Description:

§  JAVA/J2EE Developer should have the experience with the following skills

§  Minimum 8+ years of experience in building complex enterprise applications uing JAVA / J2EE technologies.

§  Very strong understanding of the OOAD concepts and able to use it in the low level design

§  Strong experience in implementing J2EE Design Patterns for module designs.

§  Experience in developing SOAP(JAX-WS) and RESTful (JAX-RS) Web Services using Spring Web Service, Apache CXF, JERSEY and AXIS. Grails would be an added advantage

§  Very strong experience in using JMS (QUEUE and TOPICs) for building messaging related solutions using MDBs.

§  Very strong JDBC programming experience in using Open JPA and other ORM tools like Spring Hibernate, Eclipselink and IBATIS.

§  Strong SQL and Database Programming Skills in working with Oracle, IBM UDB, SYBASE and MS-SQL Server databases
Hands on experience in working on XML technologies using JAVA/J2EE. (XSD, XSLT, XPATH, XQUERY)
Java programming in XML using JAXB, SAX and DOM.

§  Experience with IDEs like Eclipse, Jdeveloper, IntelliJ, Spring Suite etc..

§  Experience in implanting CI tools to automate build using Maven and unit tests using JUNIT. Jenkins and SonarCube is a plus.

§  Very good understating on server side implementation of the modules including distributed deployments, thread management and

§  Garbage collection configurations to optimize the performance of the application.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

§  Experience in implementing Java/J2EE solutions using WEBLOGIC and Tomcat.
Java Certifications are desired

§  Experience in using GIT as source code repository is a plus.

 

Main Responsibilities:

§  Develops, supports and maintains moderately complex application development projects according to specifications.

§  Assists in analyzing and writing specifications.

§  Codes, tests, documents and implements programs according to the specifications provided.

§  Provides moderately complex to complex technical and production support to end-users.

§  Participates in and conducts peer reviews as needed. Participates in creating unit and other test plans for assigned programming tasks. Provides leadership/work guidance to less experienced personnel.

§  Assists in designing new programs of routine complexity and for basic enhancements to existing programs.

§  Recommends changes to client software based on information such as client feedback, language changes and new technology. Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software.

§  Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software.

§  Good programming skills

§  Good communication skills.
