Duration: 12 Months C2C

Position Details (repeat this section for multiple positions)

Consultant Role/Responsibilities or Tasks on Project:

 

The development team is comprised of Technical Leaders and Java developers at all skill/experience levels within the Trenton, NJ (Primary) and Dublin OH (secondary) locations.  The scope of work for the solution includes functionality for Driver License, Vehicle, Title and Registration, Reporting, Business licensing and inspections.

The Software Development Leader is the single point of responsibility for the technical solution from an application and system perspective. They take their direction from the Account Delivery Executive (ADE) for work prioritization but work with the Chief Project Architect to ensure alignment to design and architectural standards for the application. While this position requires some project management skills, it is not a project manager position.

 

Education/Experience Requirements:

Required:  MUST HAVE

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study and over ten years of previous experience.

Preferred:
Master's Degree

 

Skills Required (provide specific details around tools, client environment, certifications needed, etc.):  MUST HAVE

·         >= 15 years’ experience managing IT teams of >=15 developers doing custom application development

·         >=10 years Information Technology (IT) project management experience

·         Experience with J2EE development

·         Demonstrated track record in the following

o   Day-to-day management of the technical teams, working closely with the Program/Project Managers and Peers (Business Analyst teams and Testing Teams) to provide information around scheduling, risks, issues, changes, etc.

o   Manage multiple high priority, high visibility tasks while properly delegating

o   Define and track metrics associated with productivity, defect burn down, and root cause analysis.

o   Provide status to technical/non-technical audiences at all levels

o   Lead and participate in daily stand-ups, summarizing what the team has been doing, their current assignments, and any roadblocks/issues

o   Coordinate and collaborate with upstream and downstream project teams (Client and 3rd Party)

o   Providing Technical expertise, direction, and leadership to the technical team for a project

o   Coach and mentor the technical team in the development of the project from a technical perspective

o   Work with key architecture roles to ensure the technology is being applied to meet the business objectives (functional and non-functional).

o   Ensure all components of the technical architecture are properly integrated and implemented. This includes but is not limited to end-to-end technical assurance, technical governance, technical best practices, the reuse of technical assets, and the assignment of technical work.

o   Ensure technical issues are resolved in a cost effective, efficient, and timely manner

o   Provide technical subject matter expertise for the technical delivery processes and implementation. This may include, but is not limited to, informal meetings with team members on technical strategy of project; attendance at status meetings with customer entities (as requested), review and involvement in all technical work product reviews

o   Ensure definition and adherence to the project’s release processes and criteria for promoting code to the appropriate environments and monitors the promotion of such code as described in the Configuration Management Plan

o   Identify gaps/issues with the development tools, processes and environments, and works with the architects to identify resolution or mitigation options.
