Job Description:

Release Manager

 

 

·         Establish and manage Release management office processes, tools, standards and reporting

·         Establish and  improve Release Management Lifecycle (process, standards, tools) and ensure all technology projects are using the standard practices and tools

·          Establish and lead a team to improve Technology Release management activities such as, but not limited to:

o    Establish and manage release management processes, tools, standards and reporting

o    Establish a process and conduct project quality assurance reviews, gating reviews

o    Develop and manage a knowledge management platform and common library structure for release documentation

o    Lead Release Managers who have responsibility for releases across  Technology

·         Create a community of Release managers across Technology and establish a common vision and practices

·         Able to identify opportunities to improve the performance of Technology processes and delivery outcomes

·         Manage all communication to key stakeholders and ensures they are aware of significant changes/impacts in a timely manner from a timeline, cost and a risk perspective

·         Measure and monitor progress at clearly defined points in the process for all ongoing projects within the release to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and that projects meet or exceed expectations

·         Assess work plans and schedule impacts across the release portfolio and identify key schedule issues for reporting, escalate further as necessary

·         Assess and review schedule impacts, and works with stakeholders to resolve, and escalate further as necessary

·         Comply with the system development life cycle (SDLC) and project management methodology (PMLC)

·          Ensure changes and outcomes are communicated to all affected team members

·         Ensure governance over scope is applied at recurring, regular status meetings chaired to an individual project or set of bundled projects in an application release.

·         Assess Release closure reports and lessons learned and share feedback with Executive and senior managers

·         Executive and senior managers communications through governance meeting and executive dashboards

·         Participate in ITS executive interactions through interlock meeting and portfolio planning discussions

·         Establish and manage an Enterprise Gating Team and process within the LOB to conduct project quality assurance reviews, gating reviews

·         Assist in the execution of production change management, as well as service management and performance

·         Ensure operational criteria are addressed by bringing formal governance and oversight to operability and availability requirements starting at the front-end of the development lifecycle and continuing through to production release

·         Responsible for managing multiple, broad and highly complex teams and/or projects which are diverse in scope (e.g., full line of business, tier 1 projects)

·         Sets direction at an operational level, works autonomously in the management of the unit and collaborates with other business heads to establish and execute on common goals

·         Directs/manages large-scale applications/ projects across multiple product lines/ businesses, involving significant scope and complexity

·         Directs/manages a large group (e.g., up to 50) of IT professionals (e.g., developers, analysts, specialists, administrators and project managers)

·         Understands strategic direction (including financials) and champions alliances to benefit the Bank and/or department; advocates for operational improvements to enhance the division’s value to the organization

·         Directs the development of resolutions, plans and strategies for operational advancement

·         Key contact/representative internally and externally
