Need : Sybase Developers

NYC , NY

6+ months

 

Skills :

·         The ideal candidate should possess excellent database design and development skills working with Sybase Adaptive Server, DB2, or other RDBMS.

·         Strong data modeling experience is a plus.

·         Candidate should be proficient in creating/modifying tables, indexes, and stored procedures, and should have experience working with large volumes of data.

·         In addition, the candidate should be an experienced Java developer, with working knowledge of topics listed in the skills section below. Perl/scripting knowledge is also desirable.

·         Individual must be self-starter, be able to able to work within a large team, and have strong analytical skills. While the role will be primarily focused development,

·         Skills Required In-depth knowledge of Sybase, DB2 or other RDBMS, SQL, and stored procedure development

·         Data Modeling concepts and tools - Data Warehouse/Data Mart design concepts

·         Knowledge in the Financial data arena (risk/trade data)

·         In-depth knowledge of UNIX/Linux environment

·         Perl, ksh scripting languages

Skills Desired

·         Knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) tool concepts ?

·         .Net C# - OO - Openness to and enthusiasm for learning new technologies
