SR Technical Oracle Applications Developer w/ Oracle DBA skills (Multi-YR) in Laurel, MD 20707

They are searching for an Advanced Technical Senior Applications Developer, with solid Oracle Database Administration skills for a multi-year contract.  Successful candidate must have Oracle Utilities /

E-Business Suite Application Database Administrator experience.  

 

GENERAL SUMMARY:

·         The Advanced Technical Senior Applications Developer will support the Information technology team by maintaining The Commission's Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) project, specifically related to database support of the Oracle Utilities Work and the Asset Management (WAM) system.  

·         He/She will help develop and administer databases and translate technical specifications into programming specifications between legacy system and the Oracle platform.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Develop and administer databases used to store and retrieve data and develop standards for the handling of data;

·         perform maintenance on databases and application services as required;

·         monitor and assure database links and data transfer between remote databases occurs and verify data integrity;

·         translate technical specifications into programming specifications;

·         develop, customize, or acquire applications software;

·         verify and ensure proper data recover procedures are in place and functional;

·         migrate system changes and database changes to Production;

·         migrate final data conversions to Oracle Utilities and/or e-Business Suite.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

·         Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other technical discipline and (4) years of progressively responsible experiences OR High School diploma or equivalent and (5) years of progressively responsible experience using Oracle programming tools (SQL Plus, PL/SQL, SQL Loader or other ORACLE database programming tools);

·         Advanced level experience implementing, upgrading, reporting, and troubleshooting entire Oracle Utilities and/or e-Business Suite systems;

·         (5) years progressively responsible experience interpreting physical database models and understanding relational database concepts such as indexes, primary and foreign keys, and constraints using Oracle;

·         previous experience employing advanced maintenance strategies is a plus;

·         A minimum (3) years of progressively responsible experience using UNIX shell / PERL scripting and automating system processes.

 

The expected term for any resulting contract(s) will be (1) year, with (2) one-year renewals at the sole option and discretion of our client.
