Job Description:

Job Summary

This individual will be responsible for redesign, development and support of the in-house Enterprise Reporting platform, a Java/J2EE application for scheduling daily batch and interactive reports. The individual will work within a project team in the understanding requirements, developing technical designs, developing solutions and delivery of reporting projects, across all tiers of the solution.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, implement, deploy and support of the next generation of the in-house Enterprise Reporting solution.
  • Support the existing version of the Enterprise Reporting solution in Prod until the new one is tested and deployed.
  • Assist project managers with project management related tasks like efforts estimation, resource allocation, task distribution, delivery management, risk management and other project management tasks.
  • Work with a team of employees and consultants including offshore vendor-resourced staff for ongoing support and redevelopment.
  • Establish best practices for integration using web-services and other current industry practices.
  • Work with project lead, analyst, and business users to understand business processes and translate them into functional and non-functional specifications for reporting solutions

 

Min Requirements:

Job Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience on the following technologies would be required for day-to-day operations from the on-boarding day:

-         Java, J2EE, Weblogic, Tomcat and web-services integration

-         Experience in Weblogic to Tomcat migration would be a plus

-         Experience in Webservice calls to Oracle Reports Server, OBIEE, Jasper, Cognos & Tableau is highly desirable.

-         Oracle 11g databases, SQL and PL/SQL

-         Shell scripting (ksh, bash, csh, Perl), job-scheduler (Maestro),

  • Minimum 5 years of deep expertise in design and development of J2EE applications with Oracle databases.
  • Ability to operate with less than perfect information and make quick decisions when necessary, and be able to take existing applications and work on enhancements and bug-fixes.
  • Experience in working with & guiding offshore development teams required.
  • Must be able to independently architect, design, and coordinate complex projects.

  • Work on a team developing a distributed authorization solution using Xacml 3.0
  • Evaluation of software products/solutions/architecture.

Skills Needed: 

  • Development of Java applications using LDAP and SQL.
  • Strong understanding and experience with XML and JSON

Job Description:

The hands-on technical architect/Lead role requires building solutions, abstract frameworks, presenting the solutions, framework to client and team, getting buy-in from all the stakeholders, estimation and supporting the project manager in planning, overseeing task assignments that are aimed at executing a contract and with specific responsibility to make sure that all technical matters of the project run smoothly and come together as planned at the end when the system goes live. Suitable candidate should have the ability to liaise with team members with varying technical backgrounds, from management to designers and programmers in the client IT department.

 

Technical Architect responsibilities include:

Ø  Collaborate with end users and senior management to define non-functional requirements for complex systems development.

Ø  Develop technical architectures, frameworks and strategies, to meet the business and application and technical support requirements and/or technology initiatives

Ø  Provide guidance and mentoring to junior members of the technical team.

Ø  Document various views of the architecture and communicate to the team and stake holders.

Ø  Assess, make recommendations, and communicate plans for choice of specific tools and technologies

Ø  Monitor industry trends to ensure that solutions fit with government and industry direction for technology.

Ø  Overall technical implementation and quality of assigned projects and technical components

 

Required / Desired Skills

Ø  Demonstrated hands on ability in architecture, design and development of scalable, complex Java / JEE software large enterprise web applications

Ø  Hands-on experience utilizing following framework/specifications: ADF, JQuery, JSP, Servlets, Spring, Hibernate

Ø  Experience working with any industry Portal, ESB, BPEL, rules engine products (Oracle stack is a plus)

Ø  Demonstrated capabilities of designing and building tools and reusable abstract frameworks to ensure minimal development time and modularization

Ø  Experience in application tuning and server configuration tuning is a plus.

Ø  Minimum ten years of related experience.

Ø  Minimum five years of experience with developing and deploying Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and web service development.

Ø  Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work on cross-functional teams and foster team commitment to tasks.

Ø  Ability to mentor and lead other technical team members without having direct supervision responsibility.

Ø  Strong facilitation, verbal and written communication skills

Ø  Must be self-motivated, independent, and able to work well with stakeholders and project staff with minimal supervision.

Ø  Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.

Ø  Able to lead teams to consensus decisions on complex business and technical data challenges.
