Position: Business Systems Analyst
Location: Ft. Washington, PA
Contract (long term w/ initial SOW through end of 2013)
Experience Needed:
-interfacing between business partners and tech development team
-exp with backend databases and running queries
-requirements review
-need to be able to bridge the gap between requirements
-be able to look at the "technology ecosystem" and recommend changes to firewalls
-ability to correlate financial changes
-will be a part of escalation and management of helpdesk tickets
**Experience on the mortgage side of capital markets is a must have**
Senior Technical Business Analyst
Requirements:
Purpose and role of job: Assists with eliciting, analyzing, validating and managing the real needs of Capital Markets business and technology stakeholders including horizontal partners.
Principal Accountabilities:
Ø Serves as a conduit between the Capital Markets business community and the technology team.
Ø Develops relationships with business partners to ensure that requirements are understood and technical documentation appropriately reflects the business process/need.
Ø Offers practical and creative solutions to issues or conflicts between business partners and project management or technical resources.
Ø Define and document internal and external user interfaces and support system and data requirement clarification and definition.
Ø Support prototyping activities that will validate business requirements, solution definition and minimize risk.
Ø Works directly with Capital Markets business partners and the applications development team. May assist in quality assurance and defining testing strategy and risks.
Ø Take the lead role on projects, with minimal supervision, as needed.
Ø Mentor other business analysts; may provide work leadership.
Ø Provides analytical support and consulting on projects to ensure system and business requirements are clearly documented and understood during the design and development of the application.
Ø Has thorough understanding of Capital Markets business and technical concepts. Uses that knowledge, creativity and company practices and priorities to obtain solutions to complex problems.
Ø Interfaces with senior management to provide and obtain information and to build consensus regarding project direction.
Ø Regularly communicate status updates in both verbal and written formats to technology peers, senior management and business partners within Capital Markets.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Ø Minimal – Bachelor's degree and 8+ years or equivalent experience
Ø Major Field of study: Capital Markets, Finance, Computer Science or related degree
Ø Prior Capital Markets mortgage industry experience a major plus
Essential Competencies Required:
Ø Ability to adapt and work within ambiguity.
Ø Strong mathematical aptitude with strong problem solving skills.
Ø Knowledge of documentation life cycle.
Ø Strong data and support skills, be able to recognize trends, and think "outside of the box" to solve problems.
Ø Thrive in a team environment, but able to work independently when needed.
Ø Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ø Experience with relational databases (i.e. Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server) including ability to write simple queries for data analysis.
Ø Strong work ethic and a proactive mindset; self-starter.
Ø Work Environment: Due to the nature of the work, more than 40 hours per week may be required at times to meet business objectives and deadlines. Ability to support after hours and weekends as needed is a must.
