Role: Cognos BI Report Developer

Duration: 6+ Months

Location: Portland, OR

Job Description: Our client is looking for Cognos BI Developer with Total experience in required skill (years) 6-8Yr

Mandatory Skills: 

"Technical: DBMS: Oracle 10g, SQL Server 2008 R2 Languages: SQL Operating Systems: Linux, Unix, Windows Tools/Utilities: Cognos 10 BI 

Expectations: 

• Cognos Report Studio - Design and construct the report, Complex Report, Parameters and variables, drill through, master detailed, Local and global classes, performance tuning of report in cognos 8, variables-render and conditional, multi prompt, generated prompt, drill through and repeater, union and join, bursting, YoY and YoM reports, historical report, Token, Dashboard, Bookmarks, Fact-less and fact table. 

• Framework Manager – Stitched query, Usage property, Security model-package level, Loop in FM, Scope in DMR, relational and dimensional model in single model, session parameters, 

• DW Concepts-Slowly changing dimension, Fact less table, Star & Snowflake schema, Junk dimension, Staging area DB 

• Admin – Single/Multiple servers, Deployment location, Mitigation and deployment 

• Event Studio, Query studio, 

• Interact with onsite team to get the design and get complete understanding of the requirement 

• Test the developed reports with the backend data "

Desirable Technical / Functional Skills:

• Document the test cases and test results in proper format 

• Provide quick resolutions to business users' queries, problem analysis, recovery and resolution 

• Good understanding in SQL Querying 

• Good understanding of DW concepts
