Title: VMWare Architect

Location: El Segundo, CA

Duration: 6+ Months

Start: ASAP 

 

The Job Description is as follows:

 

 

Role & Responsibilities

 

1.            Develop complete virtualization solutions taking into account infrastructure, data protection, high availability, resource management, automation, disaster recovery, and application requirements.

2.            Develop automation for VM creation, configuration, and provisioning.

3.            Identify and report Key Performance Indicators, needed for capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

4.            Review network and system design for network security and other risks during course of projects. Serve as a liaison to vendors and/or third-party providers as assigned.

5.            Document the current and future solutions. Provide a consistent framework for business solutions.

6.            Review and assess new technologies as they apply to the new Foundation Virtualization Environment.

7.            Manage implementation of virtualization projects, from both technical and communication aspects.

8.            Provide technical guidance, knowledge transfer and mentorship to internal engineering peers.

 

Required Candidate Profile

 

1.       7+ years' experience in      overall IT (either systems or network engineering).

2.       5+ years' experience managing Virtualization projects.

3.       5+ years technical experience with VMware (Design, migration and implementation)

4.       Ability to grasp new technology concepts quickly and assist others in understanding them as well.

5.       VMware current certifications, VCP required.

6.       Experience with Hyper-V or Xen Virtualization  

7.       Experience with Linux is a plus. 

8.       Experience with Lab Manager, Site Recovery Manager, VDI (View), and Life Cycle Automation, are a plus.

9.       Excellent Presentation, Communication, and Documentation Skills.
