PL/SQL DEVELOPER IN MA - Local MA/RI/CT/NH candidates only

PL/SQL Developer in Marlboro MA for a 6-12+ MONTH CONTRACT

RATE IS OPEN (TARGET IS $65-70 BUT WILL PAY FOR THE RIGHT GUY)

UI AND/OR FINANCIAL SERVICES BACKGROUND IS A MUST!!!

FACE TO FACE/LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY!

1. We are seeking a Sr. Oracle PL/SQL developer with UI skills. Strong developer skills with Oracle PL/SQL are required. (UI is a just a nice to have but candidates with this experience will be given first preference). Strong Oracle PL/SQL on the unix platform is the primary skill set for this role

2. The candidate needs to have Unix experience

3. UI skills are a plus. The ideal candidate will possess Groovy Grails and/or EXTJS.

4. This individual will work with the offshore team and over time will have the opportunity to become a Lead.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Minimum Requirements:

Job Qualifications

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and proven ability to design and deliver solutions relevant to complex business problems.

  • Strong oral, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical solutions to system analysts and business teams without using too much technical jargon
  • 5+ years of experience including 2-3 years of experience working on a software engineering team with onshore and offshore resources
  • At least 4-5 years of experience and expert-level proficiency at Database development in Oracle
  • At least 2-3 years experience working with enterprise messaging such as MQ/Active MQ messaging system and distributed computing platforms.
  • 2-3 years of development experience working with browser-based applications and technologies
  • Experience with technologies as web services, Groovy/Grails, EXTJS, XML/XSLT, Struts, log4j, ANT, Spring,AJAXis strongly preferred
  • 3-4 years of proven object-oriented software design and development
  • Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application servers such as Tomcat or BEA WebLogic 9.x is a plus
  • Financial industry and data structure knowledge is a plus
  • Experience with iterative software development methodologies, such as Agile
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Job Responsibilities

As a member of this team, the individual will have the following responsibilities:

Technical architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support of the systems that serve needs of Financial Services Organization

  • Participate in small to mid-sized development teams involved in full-lifecycle development efforts which are based in J2EE, Linux/Unix and Oracle technologies
  • Responsible for code quality and assurance by focusing on static code analysis, unit testing, design and code reviews, continuous integration, release management, performance tuning, test strategy and execution
  • Partner with System Analysts and Project Managers to implement business requirements
  • Partner with Project Managers, Technical and QA Leads on estimates, statuses, identify issues and raise risks
  • Provide hands-on development and mentoring of other more junior members of the development team.
  • Coordinate infrastructure related activities with middleware and database teams
  • Implement systems based on well defined SLAs
