Required Sr. Systems Administrator

Position: Sr. Systems Administrator
Location: Culver City, CA
Duration: 12 months
Interview: phone and face to face

Below regarding the updated status of the 2 Sr. Systems Administrator contract openings.
Key change in manager's requirements is "He's interested in seeing sharp, strong System Admin's that can learn AWS on the job. "

Experience: 

•             Minimum 5 years of solid experience in overall systems and software support and maintenance in a mixed Windows and *NIX environment

•             Minimum 3 years of direct experience administering infrastructure in AWS in a 24x7 support model

•             Minimum 3 years of scripting in a Linux environment (in Perl, Ruby, bash, etc.)

•             Minimum 3 years experience in sizing environments based on application requirements

•             Digital asset management, digital production, or digital distribution or experience is preferred

•             Experience with Aspera is preferred

•             Experience with TCP/IP network troubleshooting and administration

 

Knowledge:

*             Knowledge of the Scrum methodology and the software development life cycle.

*             In depth understanding of web based application infrastructure

*             Basic understanding of relational and noSql database concepts is a plus

*             MUST have AWS infrastructure support model experience

 

Skills:

• Knowledge of systems management concepts (Windows, Linux/Unixserver). Hands-on experience with all of the following technologies:

•             Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003 (Workstation/Server)

•             Unix - Sun Solaris / Linux

•             Active Directory

•             Experience in a large corporate global server environment is preferred.

•             Experience in server migrations

•             Proficient systems administration skills to include Windows, Linux servers, and/or Unix.

•             File service and System concepts.

•             Excellent problem solving and decision making

•             Work effectively with team members, clients and other IT areas.

•             Handle multiple tasks and must be flexible in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

•             Perform after hours/on-call support as necessary.

•             AWS infrastructure and support model

•             Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, and Splunk

•             Strong business analysis skills.

•             Strong analytical and problem solving skills

•             Ability to "think out-side the box"

•             Ability to multi-task

•             Proven ability to get things accomplished and working with others

•             Focused on delivering results
