A suggestion

                A suggestion for those who’ve believed it a chic fad to be a progressive and support collectivism.

 

                If you are of that creed and still, somehow have a job, a home, a family, a car, and relative comfort I’d suggest that you really open your eyes to what is going down all around you.  That sucking sound you’d been hearing isn’t the sound of your more risqué leftist buddies giving a modicum of sexual relief to his beau of the day, it’s the economy going into the crapper. That wind you feel in the streets as you leave your home isn’t just a gust of air but air fueled by the collective gasps of shock and dismay of the latest round of newly unemployed neighbors.

 

                That buoyant feeling that you have due to Obama winning re-election is transitory and disappears far more quickly if YOU are the one who gets the dreaded pink slip.  This is, after all, what you voted for, and that’s only one of the horrors that you’ve willingly asked into your lives.  

 

                The one suggestion that I can make for you is that you become the epitome of the model employee and pray that your boss doesn’t happen to see your posts on face book, twitter, or this email list in which you condemn the evil rich, the unfair employers, and the corporate robber barons “getting richer on the sweat of your brow with no conceivable sacrifice of their own”.  Nope, I’d suggest that you make damn sure that you get to work each day early and start working off the clock, that you don’t dare get there a minute after the official start of the workday, that you don’t watch the clock at the end of the day figuring to bolt out of the door the minute it hits 4 pm or whatever time your workday ends.  I suggest that you don’t let that project you’ve been working on all day to be finished tomorrow, but stay a few minutes and fine tune it now. Those are starting steps that MAY delay your turn at getting a “pink slip”.  If it’s new behavior for you, it damned well may not work. This is the new day when YOU pay for previous sloth and anger misdirected at those who’ve paid you so that you could pay the mortgage or the rent and put food on your tables.  Remember, that’s what you voted for. Call your union rep after the pink slips start coming and they’ll tell you to F’ off, they’ve got their own lives to save.  Thing Momma Government is going to come in on a white horse to save you and provide that “safety net” you always believed was there and even saw in action when there was a political gain to be attained with it?  Not unless the media and other lefties push the issue folks, as they did with Katrina, and bring up the “race” thing.  Ask the residents in New York about that safety net as they sit in wet, partially demolished, cold houses, they’d worked their entire lives to build about that safety net now after Sandy. 

 

                Yep, if you want to survive now…Cut your hair, get rid of the piercings, show up on time, be professional, keep your eyes clear and your mind sharp ( that means don’t be toking on the way to work, shave, brush your teeth and smile at the customers, speak with courtesy, and without punctuating your sentences with a faddish “fuck” every few words, and grow up, or die.  Damned sure the great Mother Government and Barack Obama won’t give a damn if you do.
