Why not, the judgment of progressives is hardly the judgment I'd be
concerned with. BTW, whether you agree with Larry or not is your business
but the retirement that I and other American Military personnel earned is
NOT welfare and neither is that of others like Lew or Pred or Space who've
also earned their retirement. Larry's possible mistakes in life are his
problem, not mine nor are they the problem of Space, Pred, and Lew. Despite
any mistakes we have made, we at least had some kind of plan for the future
when we were no longer working and had to make the requisite sacrifices
during our working careers to make that plan work. Perhaps spending a small
fortune on an unproven electric powered car might have been put off a while
to allow for a more stable financial platform, if indeed, Larry's whine is
about his having to work. Shit, woman, I worked from the age of six doing
whatever I could, including being a "shine boy" until I was twelve and got a
paper route. I did that until I was 14, got my working papers from the
Philadelphia School District and started working for companies and stores
that paid an hourly wage, and took out far too much for income tax, Social
Security, City Wage tax, State Income Tax, and Medicare. I retired at the
age of 59 when I retired from the Army with more years of service than I
needed to serve for retirement purposes. Screw Larry and his pathetic whine
and if you're upset about "snarky" remarks, well, Guess that's something
you'll just have to live with.
