No Lynn, that would make me a progressive or at least a liberal. No, Ma'am,
I had it as hard and as easy as anyone who grew up in my circumstances.
Most of them develop a work ethic and learn to prioritize needs or wants.
Some of them failed and ended up dead in a drive by (which were common in
North Philly in the 60s) or a gang fight, or via suicide by cop as they were
trying to rob someone or beat some poor slob up for the few bucks he might
have. After LBJ pulled his Magic Con and gave us a Great Society, more slid
into the oblivion of living in the Democrat Plantation that the ghettos
became because, let's face it, it was a lot easier to sleep til 2 pm, go out
grab some t-bird and go looking for victims than to get up at 5 or 6, get to
work, and try to make it home without being robbed. Superior, no, successful
in attaining my major goals in life, being happy with the results, remaining
resolute at resisting those who would take the fruits of my labor, most
definitely. You have no right to demand that I or anyone give the fruits of
my labor to those you choose worthy, neither does the government, that's for
me to decide. If I choose to withhold my yearly donations in a down year in
order to dedicate my assets to the preservation of my family, that is my
right, not yours, and not the governments.
