Mtamandeni is not only a grown up man now. He is a husband and a father too. Janet Liabunya - Mtamandeni's lovely wife - also made a presentation at the Conference. And based on what was on show in Njamba Room, you wouldn't want these two to "gang up" against you.

Two fine lawyers.

In fact, I was able to put faces to a lot of names that post "stuff" to this forum. There are a lot of fine young Malawian men and women that have come out of Law Schools all over the world. What they don't have right now is space. But perhaps these fine cats should agitate for their own space. The incumbents won't cede space easily.

It is amazing how certain episodes in life remain frozen in time. When I joined foreign affairs many eons ago, one of the colleagues I found was Agnes Kamphani, amake Mtamandeni!

She would time and again tell us about how troublesome this little kid was, beaming with the usual motherly pride of a kid growing up in a well behaved way! Sometimes we would knock off late and as we drop off Agnes in area 18A, the little Mtamandeni would be waiting to open the door!

Are you kidding me that little boy is now a liar oops lawyer! That is what I said to her proud mum when I met her in NY some years ago.
