The opening requires knowledge of Angular, Backbone and HTML5 in addition to the below skills.
This Developer role resides within Client's DATA Group, a team that is working on large data-driven initiatives that span the firm. This position will join Agile whole teams and contribute a variety of skills, depending on the business need and the product being delivered. Activities range from clarifying requirements/stories, identifying an MVP, building a proof-of-concept, heads down coding, QA, and rolling out. See yourself as part of a large, high-visibility program and building from something small into an important high-value capability for the business.
Successful candidates for this position will be passionate about data and excited about the value and insights a company can derive from that data. He or she will understand how quality data, moved quickly, can power the client experience and help Client grow. Candidates must have demonstrable communication and collaboration skills and be able to work with peers in other organizations, other developers, a lead architect, business analysts, product owner, and others.
Preferred Skills, Education, Experience:
Qualities of a successful candidate:
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years' experience (academic or direct experience, including best practices) in the IT field
• Demonstrates a solid understanding of software product lifecycles as well as how technical systems work and interact
• Must be very detail oriented
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to communicate with various levels of associates in the organization
• Experience estimating work, selecting and completing tasks inside of an Agile Methodology structure (Scrum or Kanban)
• Experience working in financial services, marketing, or big data/analytics a plus
• Experience with Java and Javascript frameworks, APIs and service frameworks, plus tools such as Angular JS, HTML5, Backbone JS
• Database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, SQL)
• Strong programming/scripting background with extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux, Windows, shell scripts
• Languages experience: Java and/or C++, Objective-C, Python, Perl, Groovy
• Experience of working with code repositories like SVN, GIT & automation of configuration management tasks, along with other tools/applications like JIRA, Confluence, Team City/Jenkins, Fish Eye etc...
• Experience with Object Oriented Analysis, Design, Unit Testing and continuous integration
• Experience with distributed systems development
• Experience with real time, high volume transaction systems preferred
• Knowledge of common software design patterns
• Experience of using tools to integrate best practices like static code analysis, automated unit tests & regression tests, code coverage analyzers, creation of sandbox environments etc.
• Experience in a large server farm/environment
