Position: Network WAN Engineer

Location: Bloomington, IL

Duration: 9 Months

Rate: $40-45/hr C2C

 

JD:

Need to have a broad level understanding of telecommunications and will need to be a Subject Matter Expert for Wide Area Networks and the various circuit types.

Additionally, prospective candidates should have an understanding of Service Management Processes and ITIL.

As a 3rd level analyst on the WAN team, the candidate selected will be responsible for implementing solutions using proper change management, serving on projects as a representative of the team, ensuring WAN problems are resolved, and providing solutions for customers of the Enterprise Network.

 

Responsibilities;

·         Wide Area Network Responsible for T1 circuits and Toll Free Service

·         Understands telecommunications Industry, Concepts, and Skills

·         Knowledge of Switched and Dedicated terminations

·         Vendor Interaction experience with LEC, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint

·         Familiar with carrier standard order intervals

·         Experience in trouble handling procedures and responsibilities

·         Knowledge of carrier software and web tools

·         In depth understanding of circuit order coordination o Ability to provision ISDN circuits for Local, Long Distance, and Toll free

·         Knowledge of WAN Technologies such as T1, DS3, OC3, Ethernet, SONET, and Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) services.

·         Basic technical/functional knowledge of the Cisco network equipment

·         Ability to consistently meet demanding deadlines

·         Knowledge of Unified Communications Technologies a plus

·         Able to recommend design changes as appropriate

·         Ability to set business partners expectations

·         Able to document work and keep records

·         Knowledge of Voice Over IP routing and transport
