Comcast Location: Washington, DC The manager will consider recent CS graduates. This position is with the Quality Assurance team. QA team is made up of Java programmers, QA engineers and analysts responsible for testing Comcast's Search, Browse, ETL and Recommendations platform. This position is responsible for automation and manual testing of ETL project.
Job Responsibilities: • Will be responsible for designing and implementing automated tests and test automation tools, primarily in Java. • Create, execute, and troubleshoot automated tests. • The routine tasks will also include working with manual testing team on requirements for automated tests/tools, providing project delivery timelines, creating documentation, and maintaining existing automated tests and tools. • Evaluate test results to determine adherence to requirements and conformance to established business processes. • Conduct root cause analysis of defects identified in a timely manner and provide follow-up with development, product owners. Improvement in the quality of customer facing deliverables - Deploy and test ETL applications in JAVA/Linux Environment. - Create test cases and tracking in Rally. - Identify data gaps and functionality issues. - Provide QA metrics
Required Qualifications: • At least (2) years' experience in Java Development • Experience in SQL (for Oracle), and Shell scripting, familiarity with XML, experience working on Linux platform, knowledge of middleware interfaces • Proficient in Core Java including Java concurrency, collections, garbage collection, exception handling, Java serialization knowledge. • Ability to design, implements, and expand scalable test automation solutions independently and in a timely manner. • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others with varying levels of technical understanding. Ability to master new concepts quickly.
Plus: • Familiarity with cable infrastructure. • Familiar with interface testing and mock objects concepts.
