Below is the job description for your perusal.

Purpose:

The Senior Network Engineer provides technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations to IT management for new technologies and network applications in response to business needs. The Senior Network Engineer works with internal/external partners to evaluate and design solutions for business and customer requirements which will integrate with and enhance the network.

We are looking for the following skills:

5-10 + Years of experience supporting large scale networks of 10,000 or more nodes

Superior knowledge, skills and experience with Cisco routing hardware, software, protocols etc.

Advanced ability to troubleshoot issues with network and wireless infrastructure.

Advanced knowledge of Cisco network design best practices

Thorough understanding of modern service provider TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies

Strong working knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc.

Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead, and as a participant in a team environment.

Router, Switch and IP configuration experience is required.

Strong understanding of centrally controlled 802.11 wireless systems, including Guest wireless access/control

Strong understanding of endpoint authentication systems for wireless (WPA2, PKI, etc.)

Advanced Knowledge of Cisco operating systems

Ability to communicate with customers.

Strong background in UNIX operating systems (Linux, Solaris, etc.)

General knowledge of 802.11 Wireless technologies, specifically on Cisco Wireless Controllers

A high degree of Customer Service skills.

An understanding of Remedy (or similar ticket management system) and how to manage tickets.

Initiative and motivation.

Willingness to work with others on problems that may not be specifically Network related.

A commitment to total quality and the process of continuous improvement.

Ability to work in an office environment and interact with others.

Willing to participate in on-call

Willing to travel to remote locations for network related support (in U.S)

Current Cisco Certification: 

Preferred:

Strong skills and experience around datacenter network technologies, specifically Cisco Nexus 7000 series, fabric path, and OTV.

Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN support and engineering design for voice, data and video networks at Access, Aggregation, and Core network locations.

General Knowledge of best practices with Telephony Switch networks using switching interfaces.

Strong capabilities in documenting network architectures and designs

Your responsibilities in this role would be:

Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to the company's infrastructure needs. Interface with IT management and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.

Design and manage the rollout of critical network infrastructures to support the company's products and services, on both a strategic (long-term) and tactical (immediate term) level.

Perform analytical, technical, cost analysis and capital expenditure development work in the planning, design, installation and on-going administration and IT management of the company's core data networks.

Ensure that network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
