Sr. Oracle DBA Position - Indianapolis, IN

Role: Sr. Oracle DBA

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Duration: 1 year

The Sr. Oracle DBA is responsible for providing technical expertise in the analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of an existing high-volume, data intensive system.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years' hands-on experience supporting Oracle database 12c and Oracle EBS 12. 
  • Background in R12.2 application administration is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle 11g/12c internals, from performance troubleshooting down to ASM striping.
  • Strong Database Administration and SQL skills.
  • Hands on Experience in Exadata 
  • Operating system knowledge (Unix, Linux and/or Windows).
  • Daily administration activities such as storage layout, Data Guard replication, backup/restore, patching, maintenance, upgrades, and access control should be second nature.
  • Extensive knowledge of high availability databases.
  • Proficient with automation of maintenance tasks using PL/SQL and other scripting and tools.
  • Superior troubleshooting skills, battle-tested in high-volume production environments including Grid Control Administration.
  • Hands on experience with Performance tuning, Grid Control, analyzing and handling corruption, Backup & recovery, installations & configuration.
  • Hands on experience in RAC, Data Guard and multi-tenant database.
  • Virtualization of high-performance database environments.
  • Schema design and access control .
    Maintain database backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery database environment.
  • Develop and support procedures for database security.
  • Conduct database capacity planning, record archival, and performance tuning regularly.
  • Implement and support database software upgrade and patch management procedures.
  • Develop processes, procedures and guidelines for troubleshooting database events and performing sustaining tasks.
  • Build Oracle environments as needed.
