Role- Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Location: Houston, TX

Duration: 10 Months

 

Key responsibilities/accountabilities:

Work in small groups of developers through complete software development cycle. Perform software testing using both Manual testing and Automated testing methods. Regularly participate in development of test plans, test case design and defect log preparation for daily testing. Develop a deep understanding of client requirements and be responsible during the development phase for designing appropriate test cases to verify the software meets the customer requirements and performance specifications.

 

Essential qualifications/requirements:

·         Bachelors or Master's Degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 3-6 years of rigorous software testing experience.

·         Experience in developing test plan design and preparing test cases using systems such as MS TestManager. 

·         Experience in testing MS Windows based or web based applications.

·         Experience in development of automated test suites using systems such as SmartBear TestComplete, HP QTP.

·         Must have excellent English written and verbal communications skills.

·         Experience in doing adhoc testing for immediate bug fixes.

·         Works well in teams and independently, manages time well and makes quality decisions.

 

Preferred qualifications/requirements:

·         Experience in manual testing.

·         Experience in automated test suite development using SmartBear Test Complete is a plus.

·         Experience in test case design based on analysis of customer requirements.

·         Experience in test case preparation for Windows applications.

·         Some experience on SQL Server database testing for database testing.

·         Active participant in software testing community with keen interest in the latest best software practices and trends.

·         Experience working on a mixed discipline Agile / Scrum / Nexus product development team.

·         Demonstrated ability to conform to programming standards and release protocols.

·         Detail oriented.
