Position: Reliability/DevOps engineer
Location: Oakland, CA
Need 8-10 years of relevant experience.
The Site Reliability/DevOps engineer will manage the virtual server and application infrastructure that runs the Sungevity platform.

Skills
· Demonstrable coding capability in Python. Bash, JavaScript, Scala desirable
· Good familiarity with code development methodologies involving commit, pull request, and code review
· Experience with continuous integration(CI) and deployment automation(CD) technologies using Jenkins, Maven, GIT
· Expertise at the Linux CLI
· Aptitude with provisioning cloud-based infrastructure via API, especially in AWS
· Utilizing monitoring services to solve real-world problems
· Ability to architect clustered application services for resilience and performance
· Exemplary listening and communication skills
Outcomes
· Drive the adoption and deployment virtual network architecture via code
· Assure Sungevity business needs are supported by building and executing on development roadmaps and software strategies
· Assure design and deployment of micro services to facilitate software development, delivery, and software business process
· Continually maintain service availability at 100%
Duties
· Submit pull requests to software engineering for product inclusion
· Release major software features to production
· Update Platform provisioning code and launch the Platform on a secondary continent
· Design and test disaster recovery plans and technologies
· Build and manage intercontinental infrastructure services
· Respond to on-call service alerts
· Participate in engineering scrum team success through code contribution, collaboration, and consultation
· Manage ephemeral infrastructure service resources through code-based automation
