Title: PaaS/Cloud Engineer

Type: Contract

Duration: 6 months +

Location: West Chester, PA

 

Specific Job Knowledge

•Administration, configuration, and support of vCAC.

•Advanced knowledge of IaaS/PaaS orchestration. 

•Knowledge of virtualized environments, Linux/Unix administration, and public cloud integration.

•Understanding of Puppet, VMware vCM, Amazon AWS, Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Azure, Cisco UCS, HP Operations Orchestration, or Redhat Satellite a plus.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assists with designing, building, testing, tuning and implementing IaaS and PaaS environments.

• Ensures any environments provided are aligned with QVC norms, standards, and best practices.

• Resolves technical incidents, and provides root cause analysis, recommending prevention of future occurrences, providing descriptive and timely updates.

• Verifies adequate toolsets and workflows exist to meet anticipated requirements, makes recommendations to improve the environment as necessary.

• Creates and edits documentation for any scripting, integration, automation, workflows, processes, procedures, or environments created.

• Participates on projects, works with a project team and proactively communicates status to the project manager and other relevant parties.

• Shares knowledge and mentors QVC staff members as needed.
