Sr Java with PHP Software Engineer

Cincinnati, OH

Around $50 Hr C2C

 

The Sr. Engineers need to have had experience with PHP and a solid Java background as the focus of the engagement will be porting from a PHP based application to a Java API based architecture.

 

Work as part of an Agile team to support the migration from a PHP application to a J2EE architecture. Work collaboratively as part of an Agile team, yet exercise independent judgment requiring minimal direction from manager

Skills
o Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills (Required)
o Strong ability to work independently, quickly learn new skills/technologies, and to manage one's time (Required)
o Production of quality code and desire for continuous personal improvement
o Strong knowledge of Java, JSP/HTML, jQuery, JavaScript and JUnit, Struts (Required)
o Experience with Java IDE such as Eclipse, Git, RDBMS/SQL, CSS, XSLT, Maven, Spring, Mock-testing framework, and SOAP/REST Web Services
o Cloud framework and Web Content Accessibility experience a plus
o Some PHP 4/5 experience is desirable
o Ability to analyze and understand legacy procedural code and re- implement in OO

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
o Maintenance of web applications, using authoring or scripting languages, content creation tools and management tools
o Work within team and with external teams to develop solutions, prioritize needs and resolve issues
o Leverage personal expertise/experience to provide feedback and constructive criticism, and to propose changes to assigned tasks (if necessary) to ensure a quality product
o Review problems uncovered by testing or customer feedback and design and implement solution to those problems
o Development or validation of test routines to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces
o Quickly adapt to changes, and work with team to assist in creation and implementation of those changes
