BI Data Modeler opportunity. The selected candidate will proactively participates in designing, developing and evolving high quality,  data models that are usable and extensible BI solutions that create positive customer satisfaction

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for timely and quality completion of  work assigned for support, break-fix, minor development or major development.
  • Accountable for contributing to and developing high quality, customer-friendly BI solutions, as evidenced by taking ownership for data quality, report quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for proactively identifying opportunities for BI to improve customer focus, system thinking and quality (data and functionality).  Can readily identify efficient and effective options for new solutions, break-fix , or customer issues.
  • Takes ownership of being informed about existing and new BI deliverables as well as the customers and data providers.
  • Responsive to solving problems using SMART methodology: Specific, Measurable, Actionable, Realistic and Time Bound.
  • Responsible for using available resources to perform in depth research and providing direction to customers as they seek to develop or use existing BI solutions.
  • Appropriately escalates and pro-actively communicates with BI leaders to confirm priorities and approach.
  • Transforms business requirements into conceptual logical data models and identifies data re-use opportunities.
  • Responsible for database solution design, build and implementation

·         Responsible for keeping current on upcoming database design, releases, and participating in upgrade planning and implementation.

  • Very knowledgeable about data architectures and solutions options, and selection of correct architecture to meet short and long term needs
  • Accountable for timely completion of documentation:Source-to-Target Map,Entity relationship diagram (ERD), Rollback Plan
  • Leads efforts to standardize data definitions and ensure consistency within BI; identifies opportunities for data governance consideration
  • Responsible for establishing and maintains meta data repository  for data definitions and business rules

Required Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor degree in computer science or related technical field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in data administration activities and logical and physical data modeling required.
  • May substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with performance tuning of analytical data systems
  • Experience in creating designs for enterprise warehouses, data marts, data cubes.
  • Knowledge of data elements used in healthcare provider systems strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of best practices in logical and physical database design required
