Re: [LST] Doubt : Legal Reasoning

I think it's A because death or life imprisonment isn't mentioned anywhere in the principle

Facts: A, knowing that dacoity is about to be committed at B, falsely informs the Magistrate that a dacoity is about to be committed at C, a place in an opposite direction, and thereby misleads the Magistrate with intent to facilitate the commission of the offence. The dacoity is committed at B in pursuance of the design.

Principle: One shall not voluntarily conceal, by any act or illegal omission, the existence of a design to commit an offence.

Explanation: Dacoity is an offence.
aA should be punished as he misled the Magistrate.
bA should be punished as he facilitated an offence which is punishable with death penalty or life imprisonment.
cA should be punished as dacoity is punishable with death or life imprisonment, which he concealed.
dA is not to be punished.

Is the answer (c) or (a)
