Job Title  : Security Engineer

Location  :  Houston, TX

Duration  :  Long term contract 9-12 months plus

We have three immediate openings for security engineers to work multiple shifts to ensure network security.  These openings are straight contracts in Houston, and will require you to be able to work 1, 2, or 3rd shift.  Your experience with network monitoring tools, and able to analyze systems to help ensure network and system security will help you succeed in this position.  Apply immediately to speak with me about your candidacy for this contract opening in Houston Tx

Operational  real-time monitoring and analysis of security events from multiple sources including but not limited to events from Security Information Monitoring tools, network and host based intrusion detection systems, firewall logs, system logs (Unix & Windows), mainframes, midrange, applications and databases. 

Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, and prioritization skills

Customer service including the resolution of customer escalations, incident handling, and response

Experience in a fast paced, high stress, support environment 

Network, Security, or Platform certification(s) (S+, N+, MCSP, CNA) 

CISSP or SANS GIAC GCIA certification desired

Specialize in network and log centric analysis. 

Use of IDS, IPS, and/or other signature matching technology 

A sound understanding of TCP/IP and networking concepts 

Solid and demonstrable comprehension of Information Security including malware, emerging threats, attacks, and vulnerability management
