Job Title: Applications Programmer

Location: Oakland , CA

Duration: 12 Months 

 

Requirements:

Application Programming

 

Create administrative interface for Bright Cove video platform using Bright Cove APIs.

Create an application to embed assessment and data collection within video.

Create data validation scripts, error logs and reports for course enrollment files.

Create, apply, and manage data merging scripts.

Create administrative tool for course data management.

Software Support

 

Install, configure and maintain various web application servers.

Run UAT and quality checks of delivered platform enhancements, new tools and integrations as needed.

Monitor all CDD platforms and tools daily to ensure system availability.

Manage computer security for all software and data repositories. 

Define best practices and process for code version control (SVN, GIT).

Other Activities

 

Perform other activities as requested by the Technical Manager.

 

Job Requirement :

 

 

Bachelor's degree in a related field and three to five years of experience in a comparable position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in UNIX servers, LAMP, and java applications.

Knowledgeable of Apache web server.

Proficient in shell scripting.

Knowledge of PERL, bash, html/css, jquery or other applicable java script libraries, PHP, and Ruby; Flash development and Drupal a plus.

Experience in installing, using, and providing technical support for:
- Internet based software, including cloud applications
- Learning Management Systems
- Integrated tools and widgets
- Data system exchange 
- Unix server computers


Experience working with technical vendors and external support personnel.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Ability to work well with a team of users with varying levels of technical expertise.

Ability to effectively manage multiple, simultaneous tasks with conflicting priorities.

 

Knowledge of the California postsecondary education system.
