Role: Oracle Applications DBA
Location: Torrance, CA
Contract: 6 months, possible extension
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Oracle Applications DBA will be responsible for overall architecture, design, development, and support of all Oracle Tech Stack components including but limited to -- Oracle 10g RAC, core Oracle Database, Oracle E-Business Suite (APPS) 11i and Fusion Middleware (SOA 11g). The person will be responsible for performance, testing, execution and tuning Oracle Apps, DB and WEBLOGIC Application server.
DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
Creation of Shell scripts to manage and monitor all Oracle Apps tech stack components Support Middleware products (SOA 11g) on multi-node clustered / HA environments of WEBLOGIC Troubleshooting deployment issues in a clustered environment.
Working with Developers and cross functional IT teams to validate and drive architecture.
Hands-on experience with Administration and Configuration of multiple clustered WebLogic domains.
Thorough experience in administering Oracle EBS including activities like Patching (adpatch & admerge), Cloning, System Administration, troubleshooting, enabling & diagnosing FRD traces.
Very good exposure managing & installing Oracle 10g RAC systems.
Very good knowledge of SQL and PLSQL with Performance Tuning skills and ability to analyze Trace files.
Proven track record documenting processes and systems architecture.
Team player and flexible in working hours and shifts.
Experience in execution of large / turn-key projects and someone who can hit the ground running.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Required / Preferred Skills:
Well versed on the maintenance and support of applications in an Enterprise Environment.
Excellent skills in Oracle DB administration and tuning Experience in Configuring, Monitoring and Tuning WebLogic domains in HA / clustered environments Proficient in UNIX and Shell scripting Significant experience in managing / administering Oracle E-Business Suite, particularly System Admin module & WORKFLOW.
Full cycle SDLC experience.
Proven mastery of troubleshooting techniques and ability to solve problems quickly in a high pressure environment.
Must have excellent decision making skills, especially when imperfect information is available.
Must foster an environment of learning, progression and accountability.
Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity.
Ability to function as an effective team member.
Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
Strong understanding and hands on experience working with APACHE and IIS Web Servers.
Understanding of ORACLE Applications like OM, SCM, HR, FIN is a plus.
Experience as a Developer working with Java and Microsoft .NET, VB6 and T-SQL/PL-SQL is a plus.
Experience working with VisualBuildPro and Vault is a plus.
Proven mastery of troubleshooting techniques and ability to solve problems quickly in a high pressure environment.
Must have strong hands-on technical knowledge of SDLC and best practices.
