Job Title: IBM WebSphere Portal Developer
Location: Hoboken, NJ
Duration: Contract
Experience: 7+ years
Skills Required:
§ 6+ years of development experience with sound knowledge in IBM WebSphere Portal in different versions 8.5/8.0(JSR 286), 7.1/6.1(JSR 168)
§ Good working experience on open source JSR 168, JSR 286 portlets, Struts 1 & 2, Spring, JSP, Servlets, WebServices, JDBC
§ More preference would be given to candidates with migration/upgrade experience from IBM WebSphere portal 6.1/7.1 to 8.0 / 8.5
§ Hands on experience on Java, J2EE development
§ Quick learner and able to lead and work independently from development till moving the applications to production
§ Ability to provide end to end solution based on requirement document
§ Identification of impacts of upgrade on downstream & upstream systems and also studying the compatibility of the new system with other systems
§ Documentation of remediation & migration steps.
§ Conduct peer reviews and train the junior dev team with portal knowledge and also must be a good team player
§ Regular status updates, issues/risks identification & escalation, co-ordination with multiple teams (Application Engineering / QA / DBA /Architecture team)
§ Performance fixes & improvements and would be able to suggest and implement various industry best practices
§ Exposure to PL/SQL programming
§ Unit and system testing of developed modules
§ Should go the extra mile to deliver results on time with quality to customers.
